My first post from China!!! 24 hours after we left our house we arrived at our hotel!! All the travel went pretty smooth... minus the extra 2 hours it took us to get to Chicago because of the snow storm. It's 8:20 here in Beijing. We are all unpacked and ready to go to bed. I havent slept more than maybe an hour or so in the last 24 hours. Jeff slept a little bit more than that on the plane. I ended up sitting next to a very nice woman who was from Beijing. She and her husband were professors at a University in Beijing. We talked for about 3 hours about Chinese cultures and family and about all kinds of stuff. I learned so much from her and it was really neat getting to know her! :)
Tomorrow is going to be a full day. We meet our guide in the lobby at 8:30 to head to the Great Wall. We will climb for an hour and a half and then have lunch there. Once we get back to the hotel around 3 we are going to try and take a shuttle to the New Hope Orphange to take a tour. We think this is where Mayleigh has been living. She will not be there tomorrow when we go because she has been taken to her home orphange which is her birth city orphanage. They do this a few days before adoption day. But we are still excited about the chance to go through the orphanage and see where she has been living for the last 18 months. I know it will be a long day but so worth the hour and a half drive to get to her orphange!

Glad you made it safely. I know a few people were delayed due to weather. See you most likely at Breakfast, and oh I got the room number wrong. We are 621!
