So first attempt...she is crying really hard and they finally said they got one. They did but it was the worst picture of her. Such a pouty face...but at that point, done!! Who cares! We take it to the building next door and the officer says she doesn't approve! Back to the picture place for round 2. More screaming and crying. Actually that was the loudest we had heard cry! They tried giving her candy. A huge piece of hard candy. I was not happy. Now she is still screaming with a piece of candy in her mouth and if you know me well you know my huge phobia of choking! So now I'm freaked out and I want the candy out. The guide was speaking to her on Chinese trying to tell her to spit it out! Of course everything we have given he today food wise she spit out...but nope, not the candy! She tried her first French fry...spit it out! :) so now we are fishing it put of her mouth. There can be no tears in the picture so I'm wiping her face the whole time. What a nightmare! Finally they got one they approved!! So now as we drive the lovely 3.5 hours home she has been passed out the whole time from all that trauma! Just don't get why all this has to be so hard for the kiddos! Just being given to complete strangers is enough!!
Here are some pics of her birth city. It is a huge city...11.5 million people. We asked if we could go to her finding place but our guide told us it was actually in a county of Nanyang so it would take us another hour to get there. So we opted to not go and take a picture since it was already 3.5 hours one way.
Mayleigh would not look at the camera! And yes that is a bottle. We have tried 2 sippy cups and she will not drink from them. So gotta do what we gotta do for now!
YAH for McDonalds! I am getting sick of chinese food! This tasted SOOO good!
These pics were taken for my boys! That old tractor!!
Double car carrier for the boys to see!
Mayleigh is still not feeling well. She sleeps a lot. It has been really tough to figure out if its from her grieving or if she is feeling that sick. We are taking her to the Zhengzouh orphanage this morning because Show Hope has a care center on the 3rd floor. The nurse is going to take a look at her. They also have some meds that Dr. Steve from MBHOH thinks we should try. Hopefully we will be able to get a urine sample and find out if she has a UTI. So thankful again for all of Show Hopes help with Mayleigh!! Dr. Steve has been amazing.
We laugh though because of lot of people we are traveling with think she just loves us because she is always snuggled up to us. But really she doesnt like us yet...she just likes to feel snuggled but when we look at her sometimes she covers her face with that dumb sweater! Jeff and I just laugh. What else can you do. We hope with time she is going to realize we are not going anywhere and we love her!!! But for now we will take that she lets us hold her and comfort her! Baby steps...
Baby steps. A week will be such a difference. Then two. Then a month. Six months. You'll look back at each stage and just marvel @ how far you've come. These are the toughest days. Getting home & having the boys will be a huge help! Sending you much love! I know this is tough! (Madden gave up his bottle not long after he came home. She will get there!)
