So we enjoyed sleeping in a bit and just lounging around the room, catching up with freinds and family on facetime and moving a bit slower. Good news is that Mayleigh slept all night in her crib. She did great! Boy was it nice not sleeping with a human steam roller!!! That was a big step. But the bad news is she still woke up so sad. She whimpers and cries this little soft cry when she is not in our arms or when she doesnt have the "blanket" in her mouth. I think Jeff would love to burn that sweater but I have been a little softer about it. Its the only thing that makes her feel secure right now, and even though it looks ridiculous that she is sucking on a sweater....oh well. At least it looks like a blanket. So we had kind of a rough morning as she cried through breakfast and cried in the room and was just so sad. She hates the medicine so twice a day, that is a huge struggle. The fever came down a bit but its not completely gone. I think it was 100.2 tonight and that was with no meds since 10:30 this morning. Hopefully those antibiotics are kicking.
We were anxious to get out and find something to do so a few of us walked to a nearby park and then to McDonalds for lunch. It was a nice park but a bit chilly! Mayleigh looked around quite a bit...a change from her usual of burrying her head on our chest and closing her eyes. :( She even liked the french fries and ate a little!
I am going to leave you with mostly pictures...I am really tired and pretty emotionally drained so I am going to get to bed. We have to be up at 6 tomorrow for our flight to GZ. Hoping the sunshine and warm weather gives us a little "pick me up" for the rest of the trip!
She is actually looking at the book. When I tried reading to her earlier she turned her head away. :(
Out walking in the park.
Mayleigh and her friends Zoe and Abby!
YUM!! McDonalds. Mayleigh actually ate some fries!! The ice cream was too cold for her though!
Trying to play. But she just closes her eyes and whimpers. Didnt play much. Just sucked on her sweater. :( Poor sad girl.
All of the mammas and their new babies!! Love these ladies!! :)
Avery, Abby, Zoe, Marcus, and Mayleigh (and the famous sweater!!)
We were pretty worn out today. Feeling the stress of Mayleigh's fevers and her shutting down all the time with us. We so desperately want her to know we love her unconditionally and we will be here forever!!! Tomorrow is Jeff's birthday..all he wants is a smile or a glimmer of hope that she likes us! :)
It is so nice to follow your journey! I love all of the pictures! She is beautiful! You are both so strong! Praying each day will be a little less stressful than the day before.
